Eight local Club Olympia swimmers traveled to Irvine, California, this past week to compete in the four day 2023 West Coast Elite Showcase Championships hosted by the International Swim Coaches Association and NOVA Aquatics. This annual meet attracts top swim talent from California and as far away as New York, Washington State, Utah and Indiana. This past weekend, over 40 Club Olympia athletes competed in the FRST 14 & Under Provincial Championship Meet in Franklin, Indiana. Club Olympia placed fourth out of 10 teams behind the host Franklin Regional Swim Team, Fort Wayne Swim Team and a mere 30 points behind the Aquatics team from Summit City. This meet was unique in that swimmers competed in prelims and finals events against only swimmers their own age instead of age groupings. Nearly fifty Club Olympia swimmers spent this past weekend at Fishers High School competing in their first club meet of 2023, the Annual Mudsock Classic hosted by the Fishers Area Swim Team. This year’s Mudsock Classic drew nearly 600 swimmers representing 18 teams from Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Illinois. Team Indiana took the top spot in combined Men’s and Women’s scoring in the closely contested 2023 Mid States All Star Championships this past weekend hosted by Indiana Swimming at the I.U. Natatorium in Indianapolis.The annual swim meet gathers the top four best 14 and under swimmers for each contested event from Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Kentucky, and Minnesota to compete against one another as part of their state teams. Nearly 40 local athletes spent this past weekend in Fishers, Indiana competing for Club Olympia Swim Team in the FAST Santa Claus Classic hosted by the Fishers Area Swim Team. With nearly 25 of its club swimmers currently competing for their area high school swim teams, Club Olympia entered the 2022 Jingle Bell Classic Swim Meet at Center Grove High School with 35 age group swimmers. Nearly 50 Club Olympia swimmers spent this past weekend at the IU Natatorium competing in the Carmel Swim Club Fall Frenzy. Meagher Aquatic Center in Louisville, Kentucky, hosted by Lakeside Swim Team, one of the premier swim clubs in the United States. Three Club Olympia Swimmers qualified and were invited to be a part of Team Indiana as it competed for the 2022 Central Zones 14&U Championship this past weekend in Elkhart, Indiana. This annual championship meet takes the best swimmers from the state to form Team Indiana which competes against teams representing Ohio, Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. This past weekend, with many of its State qualifiers off or competing elsewhere, 34 Club Olympia swimmers competed in the 2022 Indiana Swimming Long Course CE Divisional Meet in Franklin, Indiana. Given only three sites held Divisional Meets in Indiana this year, the CE Divisional, with a record 714 athletes, was one of the most competitive Divisional Championships ever held.
