CLUB OLYMPIA COMPETES AT 14 & UNDER MEET HOSTED BY FRANKLIN REGIONAL SWIM TEAM

This past weekend, over 40 Club Olympia athletes competed in the FRST 14 & Under Provincial Championship Meet in Franklin, Indiana.  Club Olympia placed fourth out of 10 teams behind the host Franklin Regional Swim Team, Fort Wayne Swim Team and a mere 30 points behind the Aquatics team from Summit City.  This meet was unique in that swimmers competed in prelims and finals events against only swimmers their own age instead of age groupings.

Chad Pendleton won 10 individual events against his fellow eight year olds.   Connelly Furnish grabbed five first place finishes in eight 13 year old events.   Josh Pendleton also won five events on a shortened weekend schedule.   Shreyan Kulkarni placed first in four and Lily Pendleton first in one 10 year old events.

Zoie Chandelkar led the Club Olympia 14 year olds with a 4th place in the 200 Back and 6th place in the 200 Breast.  Brooklyn Pendleton placed 7th in the 50 Free.

Furnish paced the 13 year olds finishing first in the 400 IM, 500 Free, 200 Free, 200 Fly and 100 Fly and finished 2nd in the 200 IM and 200 Breast and 3rd in the 100 Breast.   Sanaa Kulkarni placed 3rd in the 400 IM, 4th in the 200 fly and 6th in the 100 & 200 Breast and 200 Back.  Advika Badve was 5th in the 400 IM and 8th in the 100 Breast.  Aksh Ranjan was 6th in the 200 Back and 200 IM and 8th in the 100 Breast.

Joshua Pendleton managed to lead the 12 year olds despite competing only Friday and Saturday. Pendleton won the 50 and 500 Free, 50 Fly, 100 Breast, and 200 IM.  Aubrey Hernandez finished 7th in the 500 Free and Jonathon Dettmer was 8th in the 200 Free.

Camila and Rebeca Mejia Murguia were top performers among the Club Olympia 11 year olds with Camila 2nd in the 50 Free and Fly, 4th in the 100 Free and Fly, 5th in the 200 Free and IM while Rebeca placed 4th in the 50 and 100 Breast and 6th in the 50 Free, 100Fly and 200 IM.  Aashka Shah finished 6th in the 100 Breast and 8th in the 50 Breast.  Xavier Zhang finished 5th in the 100 Fly, 7th in the 50 Fly & 500 Free, and 8th in the 200 IM.  Daxton Wolf was 9th in both the 200 Free and 200 IM.

For the 10 year olds, Kulkarni placed 1st in the 100 Free & Fly as well as the 200 Free & IM. He finished 2nd in the 50 Free, Back & Breast and the 100 Back & Breast.  Arjun Agarkar finished 6th in the 200 Free, 7th in the 50 Breast, and 8th in the 50 Free and 200 IM. Adir Joshi was 6th in the 100 Free, 7th in the 200 Free, and 8th in the 100 Fly.  Shourya Malviya was 5th in the 50 Fly, 7th in the 100 Back & 200 IM, and 8th in the 50 Back.  Vibha Nagiligari was 6th in the 100 Fly and 8th in the 200 Free. 

Vivan Shah led the 9 year division for Club Olympia placing 3rd in the 50 Breast, 4th in the 100 Fly and 200 Free, 5th in the 50 Free, Fly and Back as well as the 100 Breast and 200 IM.  Emily Meek finished 3rd in the 200 Free & IM, 4th in the 50 & 100 Breast and 100 Fly, 5th in the 50 Back, 6th in the 50 Free, 7th in the 50 Fly, 100 Free and 100 Back. Cali Gray was 4th in the 200 IM, 6th in the 100 Back and 200 Free, and 8th in the 50 Back, 100 Free & Fly.  Sarthak Deshmukh was 4th in the 100 Breast, 6th in the 50 Breast and 200 IM, 7th in the 100 Fly and 8th in the 100 Back. 

Joining Chad Pendleton in the 8 year old division was Bella Zhang placing 5th in the 100 Back, 6th in the 100 Breast, and 8th in the 50 Free, Fly, and Back.  

Seven year old Myra Jaryal was 4th in the 50 Breast, 100 Fly, and 200 IM.  5th in the 50 Free & Back, and 6th in the 50 Fly.  Arash Thokade finished 7th in the 50 Fly and 8th in the 50 Breast & 100 Back.

Club Olympia had relay teams across nearly all age combinations with nearly all finishing on the Top 8 podium.  The Girls 8&U team of Bella Zhang, Eva Rayomand, Neeti Gujarathi and Harini Pinna took the top spot in the 200 Free Relay.

For the meet Club Olympia swimmers achieved an impressive 178 personal best times in 297 events total gaining 24 new Divisional Championship Cut Times and Five new Age Group State Championship Cut Times.    With one regular short course season meet remaining before Championship Season begins, nearly 50 Club Olympia swimmers have qualified for over 200 Divisional events, 27 Age Group State events, and 30 Senior State events.
