CLUB OLYMPIA COMPETES AT ENCHANTED FOREST MEET AND PREPARES FOR STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

With 10 athletes preparing for the start this week of two consecutive State Championship meets, last weekend, Club Olympia sent mostly 12&U swimmers to Noblesville to compete in the annual Enchanted Forest Invitational. The meet, hosted by the Noblesville Swim Club, annually draws several top teams from across Indiana and Ohio.

Seven year old Myra Jaryal, competing in the 8&U division, led Club Olympia and took the 2nd place individual high points award for the 8&U Girls.  Jaryal was the only seven year old in the top 10 points for 8&U Girls.  She was joined by Bella Zhang, who placed 7th in the High Points scoring. Also placing top 10 in their respective age groups, were Josh Pendleton and Chad Pendleton, both after competing in only two days of the three day meet.

Jaryal placed 2nd in the 100 Fly, 3rd in the 50 Breast and Fly and 100 Breast, 4th in the 200 IM, 5th in the 50 Back and 100 Free with three additional top 10 finishes.  Bella Zhang placed 4th in the 50 & 100 Breast and 100 Fly, 5th in the 200 IM, and had three additional top 10 finishes.  Josh Pendleton took first in the 200 Fly, 2nd in the 400 Free, and 5th in the 200 Free competing in the 13-14 division.  Chad Pendleton placed 1st in the 8&U Boys 50 Free, 100 Fly and Breast, and 200 Free and IM with a 2nd place finish in the 50 Back.

Additional Club Olympia Swimmers scoring points during the weekend included Aahan Gupta with six top 10 finishes, Ty Mayer with two top 5 finishes, Shreyan Kulkarni and Arash Thokade both with two top 10 finishes, and Camila Mejia Murguia with one top 10 finish. Sanaa Kulkarni, Rayaan Malviya, Emily Meek, Aksh Ranjan, and Xavier Zhang all also scored points in their respective age groups.

This weekend and next, Club Olympia athletes who are competing in the 2023 Indiana Swimming Long Course Senior State and Age Group State meets include Connelly Furnish, Aahan Gupta, Shreyan Kulkarni, Ty Mayer, Camila Mejia Murguia, Rebeca Mejia Murguia, Annie Murer, Judah Nickoll, Chad Pendleton and Joshua Pendleton.
