CLUB OLYMPIA SWIMS FAST AT FISHERS AREA SWIM TEAM’S FAST 500 MEET

Club Olympia traveled this past weekend to Fishers, Indiana to compete in the FAST 500 swim meet hosted by the Fishers Area Swim Team.   34 Club Olympia athletes, several of whom competed only in a limited schedule due to weekend BCSC prom festivities, still managed to finish 4th place overall,  behind much larger and local clubs from Fishers, Zionsville, and Westfield.   This was the first full meet of the Summertime Indiana Swimming Long Course Season which competes in 50 Meter pools.   Club Olympia has yet to commence their 50 Meter pool training pending the opening of the Donner Aquatic Center.

Shreyan Kulkarni led all Club Olympia swimmers by scoring 122 points and taking 2nd place high points in the 9-10 boys division.   Myra Jaryal also claimed 2nd place in the 8U girls division with 92 points and Bella Zhang placed 3rd in the 8U girls division with 70 points.

Kulkarni took 1st in the 50 Free & Breast, 100 Free & Breast, as well as the 200 Free and IM and 2nd in the 50 and 100 Fly.  Joining Kulkarni competing in the 9-10 boys division was Aahan Gupta who claimed 5th in the 50 Free & Fly, 100 Fly and 200 IM with four additional top 10 finishes.  Sarthak Deshmukh took 7th in the 200 IM.   

Jaryal was 1st in 200 Free & IM, 2nd in the 50 & 100 Breast and 100 Free, 4th in the 50 Fly, and 5th in the 100 Back.  Zhang won the 100 Fly, placed 2nd in the 200 IM, 4th in the 100 Back, 5th in the 50 Breast and added three other top 10 finishes.  Also competing in the 8U girls division was Neeti Gujarathi who placed 4th in the 100 Breast and 7th in the 50 Fly.  Cali Gray, swimming in the 9-10 girls division placed 9th in the 200 IM.

Chad Pendleton, competing in the 8U boys division only on Saturday placed 1st in the 50 Breast and the 100 & 200 Free while claiming 2nd in the 50 Back.  Seven year old Arash Thokade, swimming only Sunday, finished 2nd in the 50 Fly and 100 Back and 3rd in the 50 Free and 100 Breast.

Camila Mejia Murguia, competing in the 11-12 girls placed 2nd in the 50 Fly, 3rd in the 50 Free and 100 Fly, 4th in the 100 & 200 Free, and 5th in the 100 Back, 200 IM and 400 Free.  Rebeca Mejia Murguia claimed four top 10 finishes among the 11-12 girls while both Chris Suo and Xavier Zhang claimed one top 10 each in the 11-12 boys division.

Connelly Furnish, swam the 13-14 girls division and placed 4th in that division’s high points.  Furnish finished 3rd in the 100 Breast, 200 Free, and 800 Free, 4th in the 100 Fly and 200 Breast, 5th in the 100 & 400 Free, and added two additional top 10s.   Josh Pendleton, competing only two days, won the 200 Fly, placed 2nd in the 200 IM & 400 Free, 3rd in the 400 IM, and 4th in the 100 Free with one additional top 10 finish competing in the 13-14 boys division. 

In the Open Division Brady Beyer, swimming only two days, won the 200 Breast and was 5th in the 200 Fly and 400 IM with two additional top 10 finishes.  Annie Murer contributed 16 points with four top 20 finishes.  Ty Mayer placed top 10 in the 200 Fly and 800 Free. Todd Hundley grabbed a top 10 in the 800 Free.  Cavan Stilson captured one top 10 finish and had personal best times in all nine of his events.

Also competing throughout the weekend were Arjun Agarkar, Sarthak Deshmukh, Ethan Hall, Aubrey Hernandez, Aahana Ingole, Adir Joshi, Sanaa Kulkarni, Jasper Nickoll, Judah Nickoll, Kay Payne, Lily Pendleton, Harini Pinna, Eva Rayomand, Ricky Singh, and Daxton Wolf.

Club Olympia’s next scheduled meet is he Jamie Miller Invitational in June.
